STEP 1: PREP
-
All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from rust scale, peeling paint, dirt, wax, grease, etc.

-
Use masking tape and plastic trash bags to cover any areas that will not be primed or painted.

-
Spot prime absorbent areas with Majic Red Oxide or Gray primer.

-
Bare metal flash rusts quickly and must be primed and/or painted immediately after sanding.

CLEAN METAL
Ensure clean metal by sanding scratches and surface irregularities using an orbital sander with 80 grit paper or coarse steel wool.

ALUMINUM
Ensure clean metal by sanding scratches and surface irregularities using an orbital sander with 80 grit paper or coarse steel wool.

RUSTED METAL
Rusted surfaces must be sanded or wire brushed to remove loose rust scale. Use Majic Rust Converter to tackle stubborn rust spots.

PAINTED SURFACES
Rough up surface by sanding or wire brushing surfaces with loose, peeling paint or rust scale using an orbital sander with 350 grit paper or coarse steel wool.

GALVANIZED METAL
Ensure clean metal by sanding scratches and surface irregularities using an orbital sander with 80 grit paper or coarse steel wool.

PLASTIC
Apply a medium wet-coat of Majic Plastic Adhesion Promoter and allow it to "flash" off for 2-3 minutes. Follow with a full wet-coat and allow to dry at least 15 minutes before priming.

STEP 2: PRIME
-
Prime all bare metal surfaces with two coats of the appropriate Majic rust-inhibitive primer,
sanding between coats with 350 grit sand paper.

-
For maximum corrosion resistance, apply primer at a uniform thickness (see recommended applied thickness on back of can) ensuring there are no pinholes.

-
Add additional coats as needed, following allotted dry times on back of can.

STEP 3: PAINT
-
Stir paint thoroughly and apply using a high-quality brush, roller, or spray equipment (1.3-1.5 tip applied at ≤ 3 mils wet).

-
Paint may be reduced by adding 1 pint Majic Reducer to 1 gallon TT&I.

-
For a faster cure and added durability, add ½ pint Majic Catalyst Hardener to 1 gallon TT&I.

-
Allow 24 hours between coats.

-
Do not catalyze more than can be applied in an 8 hour period.
DRYING TIPS:
-
For best results, apply at a temperature between 50-85°F with a relative humidity ≤ 50%.

-
Do not paint in direct sunlight.

-
Too heavy an application will significantly increase overall cure time and may lead to wrinkles in the final coating.
